About: Andre is a Mechanical Engineering major at Cornell University. He is a member of Cornell's prestigious Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Team where he collaborates with other engineering students to design and construct a fully autonomous robotic submarine. Andre also does graphic design and set painting for Cornell's Melodramatics Theater company. Andre graduated from West Windsor Plainsboro High School South scoring exceptionally well on all areas of the SAT and earning 5's and 4's in AP Physics, Calculus and Computer Science as well as earning multiple awards and honors, among them: recognition from the National Society of High School Scholars, National Merit semi finalist, and United States Achievement Academy awards in 2005 and 2006. Prior to joining Ivy Insiders Andre served as a volunteer tutor for the local A2Z Student Mentoring program which focused on aiding struggling students to gain confidence in their academics. He also served as an Editor for HS South's Echoes Literary and Visual Arts magazine where he taught a staff of students the use of essential image software tools. When he's not with his students, you'll likely find Andre in his home workshop tinkering with electronics and his own robotic creations.
