Brittany Jones

College: Brown

Subjects: SAT, College Admissions
Major: Human Development & Education, PreMed

About: Brittany graduated in the top 5 percentile of her class from James Hubert Blake High School. She scored phenomenally on her SATs with an overall score of 2250 and was accepted into 5 of the Nation's 8 Ivy League institutions. Brittany was awarded distinction of AP Scholar as well as a National Merit Scholar finalist upon completion of a well-rounded high school career. As an undergraduate at Brown University, Brittany is pursuing a curriculum of Human Development and Education. She finds herself constantly concerned with issues affecting minority youth and the specific social conditions affecting their educational achievements. At Brown, Brittany participates in a student-run program called Makin' Moves aimed at reaching the high school students of Providence RI's public schools and offering meaningful mentorship, SAT preparation, and providing guidance to and awareness of higher education opportunities. She says the most rewarding aspect of teaching SAT prep is relating to students in such a way that lends itself to their ease and comfort of learning. In her extracurricular time outside of teaching her Ivy Insiders students, Brittany enjoys coaching modeling workshops and choreographing elaborate fashion shows in downtown Providence. When she's not in the lab for one of her science courses or working as an instructor and tutor for Ivy Insiders, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family, being with children, modeling, and the showcase of youthful wit and creativity at the spoken word shows hosted on her campus.
