Timeline

The Ivy Insiders Summer Management Program is open to undergraduates and recent graduates at all Ivy League colleges, as well as exceptional candidates from other Top 25 colleges and universities. The program roles out in 9 stages, beginning in early spring and wrapping up at the end of the summer.

Stage Dates Dates
Application 2/1 – 4/15 SMP applications are accepted between February 1st and March 15th. In 2009, roughly 200 Branch Managers were selected from an initial applicant pool of ~800.
On-campus interviews 2/1 – 4/15 Top Branch Manager candidates are selected for in-person interviews held on 9 college campuses between February 8th and April 1st.
Spring head start 3/1 – 4/1 Branch Managers selected before their college’s Spring Break may have the opportunity to begin marketing and school partnership activities over the break and participate in an early round of company-funded mail and email campaigns to their branches.
On-campus business training 4/1 – 5/15 All new Branch Managers are required to participate in a full-day on-campus business training program, where they learn Ivy Insiders sales, marketing, and operations best practices and receive instruction in all Ivy Insiders business systems.
Online teacher training 4/1 – 6/1 New Branch Managers are required to participate in at least 10 hours of online tutorials to learn the Ivy Insiders SAT (or ACT) curriculum, teaching systems, and test-taking strategies.
Summer Launch 5/15 – 6/15 New Branch Managers launch their businesses upon arrival home for the summer with the help of free events, school marketing, and mailings.
Sales, Marketing, and Strategy 5/15 – 7/15 First-year BMs spend the first half of their summer managing start-up logistics, engaging in community outreach, and performing proven sales and marketing tasks to fill their classes and attract tutoring clients.
Customer Management and Teaching 7/15 – 9/1 For most BMs, the second half of the summer is spent managing their client base, driving referrals business, and working with students in the branch.
Summer wrap up 9/1 – 10/1 As the summer winds down, classes end and tutoring sessions wrap up. This is the time for final payroll, top performer awards, end-of-summer bonuses, and in some cases, year-round branch planning.
