I know that I’d like to do something in business after college, but I really wasn’t interested in doing grunt work in a standard office internship for the summer. Ivy Insiders was a completely different opportunity. First I would have the freedom and flexibility to set my own schedule for the summer. More importantly, I would get real responsibility. I can’t think of any other summer opportunities, especially for a college freshman, that provide both of those things.
About my experience:I was excited about Ivy Insiders from the get-go, but I ended up getting way more from the experience than even I expected. Between putting together a go-to-market strategy, receiving ongoing training and direction from Central and my RM, and executing marketing and sales campaigns that reached hundreds of people, I feel like I walked away actually knowing how to run a business.
The teaching experience was also awesome. The Ivy Insiders curriculum really works, and seeing my students improve by 200 or even 300+ points was just awesome. I felt like I was making a real difference for my students and it was great to be able to put my standardized testing skills to use for more than just my own benefit.
After running my business last summer, I’m looking forward to growing it even further this summer, and to applying to work as a Regional Manager so that I can help the next crop of BMs have the same kind of experience I did.
