About: Gabriela is a rising junior at Yale University where she majors in psychology with an emphasis on neuroscience, and additionally studies anthropology and biology. At Yale, she is involved with the Yale Literary Magazine, runs craft activities for the Chinese Adoptive Siblings Program for Youth, and volunteers tutoring third graders in English and reading. She graduated from the Ursuline School where she scored 2300 on the SAT (800 reading 800 writing 700 math), served as editor of the newspaper, treasurer for Amnesty International, and competed in forensics public speaking. Gabriela has been tutoring her fellow students for as long as she can remember; in fifth grade she taught her younger brother long division, a bit later in high school tutored struggling students in math and biology, and worked as a private tutor for biology and the SAT. When not helping her students learn vital tactics to beat the SAT, Gabriela enjoys writing short stories, inventing new words to use in Scrabble, visiting art museums and exhibitions, and recreating her favorite pieces from colorful play-doh.
